Cold and Flu Season = telangiectasia :(

I unfortunately caught the "bug" going around. The change in season Flu/Cold. Miserable achy body, itchy watery eyes, congestion. Now my point here is how does this affect my skin?? It will if I let it. Have you heard of telangiectasia? Telangiectasia is broken capilleries or blood vessels usually surrounding the nose, face and chin; although they can develop anywhere on the body.

Do you have severe redness surrounding your nose? If  you  look closely you can see that it's not just redness it is broken capilleries (telangiectasia). This redness can be brought about a number of ways. The number one way is by blowing your nose, or wiping your nose too roughly. This is a common mistake we often make when we're too sick to care. The next time you are sick, you must take into account that just by wiping your nose can cause you to have a long term effect of telangiectasia. Another cause is over exfoliating.  Telangiectasia is not easy to get rid of and treat. What we often find ourselves doing is covering the redness up with concealer. The best way to treat this redness is with laser technology. So keep in mind next time you're wiping your nose, that this is a sensitive delicate area.

Make-up in just 5 minutes.

You have just 5 minutes before running out the door to work, school, or play....don't leave the house without putting on a few make up essentials that will create a flawless complexion. This post is specifically for the girl that doesn't want to wear a lot of make up, yet still wants to look sophisticated. After cleansing, toning and moisturizing.... Here's what you will need:

  • Concealer - (pat on under eyes with ring finger. Also pat on any marks or blemishes.)
  • Powder foundation - (with a powder brush, stroke powder on in downward motions. Covering face, neck and ears.)
  • Powder blush - (Two ways of putting on the blush; For a rosy glow add blush to the apples of your cheeks. For a more dramatic look add blush to your cheek bones.)
  • Mascara - (Meant to open up your eyes and  lengthen lashes. Apply to just the top lashes in a few quick strokes. You may apply a little to your bottom lashes for added drama.)
  • Lip Gloss - (Every girl needs a little lip gloss. Choose any color that you would like to compliment your look.)
5 products that take just 5 minutes to put on. Now you have the natural beauty look! ;)

NARS Lip Gloss....Love it!!

Chihuahua's!!! Absolutely adore them!  I happen to also love NARS Lip gloss in the Chihuahua shade. This lip gloss is subtle enough to wear on an interview and chic enough to wear on a lunch or dinner date. When I'm not sure of a lip color to put on for the day, I grab my Chihuahua!! The gloss gives my lips a neutral look with a hint of soft pink and shine. Very comfortable to wear, without the over the top "gooey" feel. My ultimate lip gloss recommendation!   NARS Lip Gloss, Chihuahua

Use baking Soda to be beautiful

Arm & Hammer Baking Soda? Yes, I watched a Tyra Banks talk show that claimed if you add baking soda to your everyday cleanser it can be used as an exfoliating cleanser. I was out of town for Labor day weekend and needed a little "pick me up" and decided to give it a try. I had a few break outs and wanted to try something different. So, last night I took a little baking soda in the palm of my hand and added a few drops of water, I massaged the pasty mix slowly in circular motions into my skin. I have to say as I rinsed I could feel my face was much smoother. When looking in the mirror, I couldn't believe it...my skin was glowing! The best shocker was when I woke up the next morning and the blemishes I had on my face the night before were non- existent!! No more redness! I couldn't believe it. I will add Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to my beauty regimen. This is very exciting!

How to keep your skin moisturized during the Fall and Winter

It's that time of year again.....
Fall/Winter = Cracked/Dry skin.

It's September and I feel it already, my skin starting to feel dry and  unmoisturized. Do you want to know my winter skin care trick?? Palmer's Cocoa butter formula!!! I put this heavenly concoction all over my body from head to toe, Even on my face! Yes, it is the only product that works for me during the fall and winter months. Did you know that Palmer's Cocoa butter solution is great for reducing stretch marks and scars, which is an added plus*. I also use the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick to moisturize my lips prior to applying lip gloss. Here is another product I love for the winter, Spa Wisdom, Monoi Miracle Oil. from the Body Shop. This product is absolutely wonderful after a shower or bath, also if poured  into your bath.

How to keep your skin moisturized during the Fall and Winter months:

Moisturize immediately following your shower or bath while skin is a little damp to lock in moisture. Be sure to exfoliate entire body with a body scrub, moisturizer is much more effective on exfoliated skin. Invest in a humidifier for your home and office. During the winter months the air is very dry, add your heater into the mix and it's a recipe for dry cracked skin. A humidifier will add the extra moisture into the air that your skin craves.
